The five-year-old WhatsApp became a leader among the smartphone-based messaging apps in a very short span of time with its simple user interface and cross-platform compatibility. But privacy was always a big concern for the WhatsApp users. If someone has your mobile number, they could be able to see your private information like profile photo and status updates without even your knowledge. There were also concerns over “Last seen” time stamp which hinder you when you actually don’t want to respond to someone. Earlier the only option to hide these information was to use third part apps or to block the person.

Now, couple of days after the company is taken over the Facebook, these complaints are finally addressed by the WhatsApp. With the new version of WhatsApp (Version 2.11.169) you can control your privacy settings as the way you want. To get the new features you have to download the latest version of WhatsApp APK file from the official website directly as the new version is not available from the Play store yet.

How to Hide WhatsApp Last Seen, Profile Photo and Status

Step 1: Download the APK file from WhatsApp website and copy it to your phone.
Step 2: To allow installation of apps from other than Play store you have to change security settings of your phone. To do this go to device Settings -> Security -> Enable the tick mark of ‘Unknown Sources‘.
Step 3: Now just tap on the downloaded file and it will automatically install it and will replace your existing version.
Step 4: Once the app is installed, open the WhatsApp and go to Settings from the menu.
