Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos users can now update their devices to Android 4.4.2 KitKat version through the custom ROM firmware. The successful model from Samsung which launched in January 2013 is currently running on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean officially. The update period of the device is already over so that it has a very less chance to get the official version of latest android version any time soon.

So if you are a Galaxy Grand Duos user and want to enjoy the flavour of KitKat on your device, your only option is to install the custom ROM on your device. There are various custom ROMs available for the device but our choice is the ParanoidAndroid (v4.0) ROM which is released by XDA developers recently. You can read the full functions of the ROM from here.

So if you have decided to flash the latest version of Android on your Grand Duos, here is the step by step guide to do the same. The procedure is simple and easy if you follow it properly. To install an unofficial custom ROM on any device it should be rooted, so if you haven’t rooted the device yet, do the same by following this article and come back. If you have a rooted device already you can proceed with the flashing method.

This article is meant for the Galaxy Grand Duos model number GT-I9082 running on official Android 4.2.2. So check your device number and OS version from ‘Settings > About Phone’ before proceeding further. Flashing this ROM on other untested devices may brick your phone or some functions of the phone may not work.
