HTC has released its flagship device HTC One in March and it’s considered to be one of the best Android smartphone available in the market right now. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, overlaid with HTC Sense UI 5 and holds features such as 4.7 full HD display, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM, 4MP back camera, etc.
Apart from this, we can see that Social Profiles are fully integrated with Sense 5. For those, whose can’t stay away from the likes of Twitter, Google+ and Facebook, HTC introduced a feature called Social Media Integration.
However a Social Media Integration is good, though you will not like some of the features in it. Here I am describing about one such annoying feature that you will not like for sure. Whenever you logged in to Facebook Account, by default HTC Gallery app will download all the profiles pictures of your’s friends in your internal storage and display it in the main window of your gallery. It will sync all the profiles pictures of your’s friends, even though you don’t know them and never seen or talk to them. It means we have to put the pictures of the entire known + unknown person’s in gallery, that’s disgusting.
But, Thanks to XDA Forum Member Riyal who thought about this problem and decided to do something about it. In solution, he has created mod that will stop the gallery app from syncing pictures and instead of that you will be shown only the default rectangular social thumbnail.
So, here I will guide you on How to remove unwanted Facebook Images from the HTC One Gallery and how to install that mod on your phone. For that, just follow the below steps.
1. Mobile should be charged up to 70-80% battery.
2. Make sure that HTC One is rooted and CWM recovery installed.
How to remove unwanted Facebook Images from the HTC One Gallery
Step 1: Download “GalleryPatch” and place it into external SD card.
Step 2: Switch off your phone and reboot into recovery by pressing and holding “Volume Up + Power Button”, from there select “Recovery”.
Step 3: Choose “install zip form SD card” and give the path to “GalleryPatch” file.
Step 4: Wait for the installation to complete, then go the CWM Recovery menu and select “reboot now”.
Congratulations! You have successfully removed unwanted Facebook Images from the HTC One Gallery. I hope the guide is very simple and really helpful to you.
In case, mod is not working on your device or if you want back your Stock Gallery app then download “Stock Gallery App” and flash it into CWM Recovery same as above procedure.
