Things To Check
- Confirm that you have taken the complete backup of the system. (Full System Backup – How to Perform and Restore)
- The phone’s boot loader must be in unlocked state and the device must be rooted with CWM Recovery installed. (If not done, follow the former mentioned link)
- Make sure that your HTC One X has 80% battery level, if not then charge up to that level.
- Check that you have enabled USB debugging from the “Settings”.

Steps to Update HTC One X to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Step 1: Download and place the above file in your device’s memory.
Step 2: Turn off your device and go to the recovery mode by Press and hold “Volume down + Power Key“, it will boot in to boot menu. From there, choose “Recovery” to boot into recovery mode.
Step 3: In the recovery mode choose “wipe data/factory reset” and then do “wipe cache partition” to delete the current system and data. After that go to advanced and perform the “wipe dalvik cache“.
Step 4: Now, tap the option “install zip from SD card” then > select the downloaded ROM file and give “Yes“. Now the flashing process will start. Just relax and wait for a few minutes.
Step 5: Once the flashing is complete, do the 4th step again but this time choose the “Gapps zip file” to install the Google applications package.
Step 5: As the process is completed, go back to the recovery main menu and choose “reboot now“.
During the first boot up the device might take some time so don’t be panic and wait for the initialization of all the services and apps. Finally, you’ll get the Android start-up screen which means you have successfully updated your device to the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
